Date: early 20th century

Phnom Yat is an active pagoda on top of a hill, which marks the gateway to the town of Pailin. A climb up is worthwhile as you will have a great view over Pailin and the surrounding countryside from the summit, especially for sunrise and sunset.

There is also an old stupa on top of the hill and the active pagoda itself is quite interesting. Have a look at the wall painings and statues. At one part on the coumpound several statues showing the cruelty of the Khmer Rouge Regime. There is also a nun telling the future.
